New PlayStation UK boss named
Fergal Gara is to be confirmed as the new VP and managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment UK and Ireland later today, according to MCV. The former Asda entertainment boss, who has also worked for EMI and the BBC, will fill the shoes of former SCE UK boss Ray Maguire, who stepped down in April after 17 years with the company.Sony has also appointed entertainment market veteran Philippe Cardon as the new MD and VP for the PlayStation business in France and Switzerland. Recently appointed European PlayStation boss Jim Ryan claimed last month that PS3 is comfortably outselling its rivals in mainland Europe, but that isn't the case in Britain.
