Activision sued by Maroon 5
Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine is suing Activision over the use of his likeness in Band Hero. According to Levine, although he had agreed to appear in the game, he believed it was to sing along to Maroon 5s She Will Be Loved. However, in the game Levine's character can also be used to sing tunes that "would not have been chosen by him for recordings or performances".As well as singing other songs, the game also allows players to change Levine's voice altogether by switching his vocals out for a femalefs.Seeking unspecified damages, Levine is suing for fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, violation of the common-law right of publicity and unfair business acts or practices.In April last year, No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani filed a similar suit against Activision.
